The DNA Products Standard Wicket Gate can be fitted to your existing Roller Shutter and is very easy to use. If there are no other access points nearby the Wicket Gate will allow pedestrians a more convenient method of entering without having to open your Roller Shutter Door. This can save time and money and prolong the life of your Roller Shutter in the process.

When installed within a Roller Shutter Door, the Wicket Gate does not roll up as it has a solid frame. This means that you must open the Wicket Gate frame back in order for the Roller Shutter to operate.

Our Wicket Gates can be installed on the left or right of the Roller Shutter Door. Each unit comes complete with a safe and secure mortice locking system.

Our wicket gates are manufactured from quality precision profiled steel sections.

The frame is welded and painted with a high-quality grey paint.

The inner outward opening leaf is infilled with 75mm galvanised interlocking lath to match the roller shutter curtain and is fitted with a Yale cylinder and rim latch.

The outer frame comes with 2 heavy duty hinges and pins for attachment to the wall or door guide.

Fire Rated Roller Shutter Info

Curtains

Shutter curtains are constructed from 76 mm traditional curved laths with a standard tee bottom rail. All curtains are securely held using cast end locks to suit the curtain configuration, which prevents lateral movement.
Guides

Formed from rolled steel, vertical guides are specified according to the size of opening. They are supplied with suitable angles for fixing to the structure.
Endplates

Steel endplates of appropriate thickness to accept the barrel and curtain assembly are completed with machine cut ‘U’ supports relative to door size and are supplied with angles for fixing to the structure.
Barrel

The barrel is constructed from high quality steel tube of varying diameters and wall thickness. Exact dimensions are dependent upon overall door width and height. The barrel also contains a bright steel shaft with a minimum diameter of 25 mm up to a maximum of 80 mm.
The counterbalance spring arrangement is captivated by using a combination of machined blocks and bearings.
The barrel is fully supported on mild steel cups that are securely attached to the endplate assembly.
Hood (Optional)

A profiled galvanised sheet steel hood is included as standard. An optional fascia can be fitted where required.

A hood support bracket may be required; this depends on the fire rating and the size of the opening.
Solenoid release linking to fire alarm

A solenoid is incorporated to be linked into the fire alarm (by others) using a 24-volt DC supply.

On receipt of an incoming fire alarm signal the door will close under controlled descent.

Note, If the signal from the fire alarm is volt-free an audio-visual warning panel will be required.
Electrical operation

Suitable for all sizes of shutter, the motor is either single phase (240 Volt, 50 Hz) or 3 phase (415 Volt, 50 Hz) dependant on size of door or customers requirement.
A controlled descent of 100mm per second (approx.) is an inbuilt safety feature. In the event of power failure, manual override is
achieved by pulling a pull cord to close the shutter under controlled descent and a hand chain to open.
The hand-chain override is designed for emergency use only.

As standard each shutter includes controls to the Control Panel only. This is to be fitted at high level to prevent unauthorised tampering.
Other control options are available on request.
We strongly recommend that shutters exceeding 16 metres square should be electrically operated.
Fire Resistant Roller Shutters

The DNA Products Fire Resistant Roller Shutter Door has been tested in accordance with BS476: part 22: 1987 and is assessed to a maximum width of 7000 mm and maximum height of 7000 mm to give up to two hours fire protection. These assessments were undertaken to the Loss Prevention Council guidelines, test report number TE 92440.

Not only do they slow down the spread of a fire through a building, but they also reduce the spread of smoke from room to room, which can be just as much of a killer as the fire itself.

The shutter curtain is constructed from interlocking galvanised steel laths and a heavier duty manufactured bottom rail, running in steel side channels, mounted on mild steel support angles which are bolted to the structure.

The curtain weight is supported from a suitable steel tube barrel assembly at high level, running on steel bearings. The barrel assembly is supported between mild steel endplates in a flag guide arrangement and driven through gears. A galvanised steel coil casing and flame trap fascia are provided as standard.
